  • I would say, as a former student, that hammond junior high has a great plan for overall academic achievement. Although the school does have some violent history, it's not the school. The violence and grudges are usually sparked because of the students and the sides of town they come from. Hammond junior high brings together east side and west side students. So even though the school has some students that spark violence, it is a great school with great plans. Hammond isn't the wealthiest area and so therefor it cannot have the best or most computers, books, and so on, but what it can provide is a welcoming facility full of great staff. If you keep your child out of the wrong groups of friends, they can excel anywhere, including hammond junior high.
