  • Although Church Creek should be extremely proud of some of its staff, it also lacks many important factors in order for it to be a successful school.
I am a parent who has two children who attend this school. Both of my kids have had some wonderful teachers. And some great experiences. I am leaving this neutral review for many reasons. This school has staff that is not kid friendly, continually rude office staff, lack of security(I am aware that they are working to fix that issue),and a continuing educational system that is currently failing many of our kids. It is truly not fair to say"no child is left behind".Many teachers are quick to diagnose students with improper issues that are most often deemed "normal" for school age children. I feel some, not all of the staff needs to be trained to appropriately deal with specific issues. A few examples are: inappropriate conversations about parents in the hallways, yelling at students, dumping desks upside down and making the students pick the mess up in front of the class and ripping a students assignment up in front of the class. Displaying ignorance and making a student feel embarrassed in front of their classmates is never ok. These are issues I have seen firsthand while volunteering at this school or visiting or from discussions with other parents.
Many of the teachers do not keep an open line of communication with the parents, and many teachers do not take the time to contact a parent when there is an issue or concern regarding a child. Many times a parent is not made aware of an issue until they contact the teacher. Extra help for students who may need it in a certain area or subject is not made available like it should be. And students are also denied tutoring even if a teacher is willing to work with a child and the teacher is being paid! I feel in some cases the students are required to either "get it" or the teacher and class moves on,which results in kids being left behind, thus in return being failed by the educational system.
There are major downfalls. parents have complained, nothing is done!
