  • Judging from what I have read here I see that ole Lakewood High has not changed one bit in over 40 years. Same "british style" class structure and same snooty people living and going to school there.

  • I do have to disagree with the student on the 13th of june, 2008. because i wasn't popular in school (i was right in the middle) and i wasn't showed any different attention than the other students. ok, honestly, i was probably one of the worst students you could find, i failed TWO classes (geometry, and physical science) my sophmore year because of dumb decisions i made. but honestly, it's not that lakewood is lacking the education, the students are just lacking the willing to learn, and i know this by experience. my teachers pushed me, definitely, and so did the principal. but when it comes down to it, the STUDENTS have to be willing to learn, no matter what school they come from. i'm so sick of people saying that Lake-o is nothing but hicks that can't learn anything or hicks that can't teach anything. because i'm here to tell you that lake-o is a GREAT school and i would not have traded where i grew up and where i went to school (lake-o say it proud)!!! for anything. I love lake-o and the great friends and teachers that i met there.

  • The school itself isn't at all very good! Made in 1964, it's not been remodeled until now! but the atmosphere which the school runs is very nice! Most of the teachers are well liked, along with other staff. And even if us kids don't get the grades that our school would like as a boost to our reputation, we like the curriculum. I am a 3rd year German student. Most friends I have from other schools don't even have German as a 2nd language class! Nearly all schools have Spanish, and some have French, but we are one of the few to have a German class!
I'm sure after remodeling is done, Lakewood will be well liked by both local students and exchange students, which we have every year from all sorts of countries with many cultural differences, such as Brazil, Germany, Korea, and Belguim, and the exchange students are well liked by the student body!

  • This is a horrible school. It barely complies with state regulation and it puts all its emphases on sports rather than education. I had classes where all we did was talk about last weeks game, the actual lecture was just ignored. Once I went to collage my professors actually told me that Lakewood students were always behind the rest of the class and were not prepared to step into collage.Lakewood wants you to think they are good, but they earned a failing grade from the state. There is also a lot of favoritism that goes on in this school. If you are not popular than forget it, because you will not be treated fairly! I can think of many occasions were certain (popular) students got away with a lot more than they should of. In my opinion and experience this is not the best school to send your kids.
