  • Rosemount Middle School is a nationally recognized school of excellence; academics. As a student currently attending I must say that many things have been left out in other reviews; we are not safer than Farmington schools, the danger just isn't as recognized. Our drug, and alcoholic rate is higher, (underage). We get great test scores, but they practically have to beat it out of us, (figurative) a lot of dictating is unfairly judged and wrongly conducted. We have many cliques, though there is plenty of neutral turf for those too timid to select their place. Majority of students could care less about your ethnicity and what you wear and own; we have seen the dark side of the world... But others have grown up in rich safe Rosemount with know perception of what really waits outside the doors to their large houses. Transfers tend to fall into the "DEAD" neutral turf: they couldn't adjust tot the chaotic nature of the school, or they couldn't tolerate the tumult we call home. The "DEAD" turf is when someone isolates them self sometimes depressed, or angered by our life styles. If you don't like noise, don't move here; there is no one who doesn't through a party, most rambunctious and lasts all night; many cleaned out by the police because of complaints... I'm not saying complain because then you will wake to a trashed lawn spray painted garage and a tepee... I don't rat on my friends but I'm trying to save any one from ending up in the DEAD zone...I have my head on tight and am down to earth and would help a transfer adjust because I've been there... But others are well accustomed to their own lifestyles and don't comprehend their unintentional ambush on new comers. Our detention rate is high, and you will get a label quickly... I can understand coming for the academics, but do you wish to make it hard for your child?
I'm not trying to stamp on anyones toes, but even our administrators have their bad sides; who doesn't?... But the point is, I've saved people from the dead turf but some just rott there and their parents can't help. Many have the level of compassion that I do and will assist, but maybe you should consider Valley Middle, it's lower reviewed but honestly having been there as well; it's better for transfers.
