  • I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, the Christ. I pray that the Father has blessed you with health, strength, peace and prosperity this day.
I’m writing to you because of the policy that you have put into practice of suspending students that report to school tardy. As much as I appreciate your effort to teach my son and all of our children discipline, there has to be a better way than this. Surely the Board can afford postage. Send me a letter or call me. But to cheat our youth out of education is not the answer. Inner-city children are deprived enough as it is.
It’s also my opinion that your staff should lead by example. Should any principal, teacher, aide, nurse, custodian or whomever: if they should report to work late, they too should be suspended; without pay. Why without pay? Because when you suspend my child because he is late, he’s going without education. If my child is being denied his education, surely his leaders and role models should set the pace. Why should the staff be paid when my child is not being taught?
I thank you for your time and attention in this matter. If needed, I can be reached via all communication channels listed in the heading.
