  • Most of the teachers at EMHS were awesome, although they worked without a contract for the most part, they were kind, professional, and supportive to the children and parents. However, the administration was TERRIBLE! Many parents ended up pulling their children out of the school because of the "politics" ongoing there. If you were a friend of "someone" or not a "working" mom and able to participate in multiple committees, your child was in good favor. If not, many children were labelled, harrassed, and terribly discouraged by administrative staff...ie, "you'll be 25 years old by the time you graduate!", or telling other parents not to let their children associate with each other's children...not realizing that as a network of parents, we communicated with each other and found them to be pitting parents and children against each other at the same time. It was sickening. I'm sure they had a high drop-out rate, since they severely demeaned certain students until they felt worthless and could not continue under those circumstances. Many parents have younger children who may be attending EMHS due to their inability to pay for private schooling, so they agree but are afraid to comment for fear of retaliation on their children. But I have nothing to gain and nothing to lose to post this true review. I hope, for our children's sakes, that the superintendent of schools will examine the administration and make some serious changes. It is disgusting how they have damaged so many children and gotten away with it. It needs to stop NOW!
