  • This school is fantastic for children who are in a normal elementary program. What you don't see is anything, anywhere regarding the special education part of the school. The special education students are separated, in the back of the school with their own wing, their own principal, counselors and teachers. They are completely separated from the "normal" kids. Their discipline procedures affect the children in a negative way. The special education kids are the outcasts. They are made to walk down the hall with their arms at their sides, in a single file line and stop at the stop signs at the end of each area. If they can manage to handle this, they are rewarded with a laminated "Hall Walking Award" a virtual embarrassment on the family fridge. My child regressed in the spec ed program and lost self esteem. Educationally, their special ed program is one of the poorest programs available. Most of the children are made to go to their joke of a summer program which teaches them virtually nothing. It is more like a field trip babysitting service for six weeks. My child was treated very poorly, singled out, and embarrassed daily. The funny thing is, changing schools to one just down the road has greatly improved my child's quality of life, self esteem and education. Just a change of schools made my child blossom. I will not give this school a good rating while it has this special ed dept shadowing in the background. Everyone raves that this is a five star school. The front part, sure. For those of us who had children in the back half, it can be agony.

  • I dont see any extracurricular programs available for the kids to be involved in after school. There have been no offers for sports or activities sent home with my second grader and he desperately needs something productive to do in the winter months especially.

  • It is a great school with some fantastic teachers, who care. I was so impressed with a teacher in 1st grade and 3rd grade. The principal listens to parents concerns and gets back to them in a timely manner.
