  • MY DAUGHTER STARTED SCHOOL AT CAPE LOOKOUT WHEN SHE BECAME SERIOUSLY ILL AND MISSED MORE THAN THE ALLOTED 8 DAYS AT THE TRADITIONAL HIGH SCHOOL AND WAS TOLD THAT SHE WOULD NOT RECEIVE ANY CREDITS FOR THE WORK SHE HAD DONE. I WAS NOT VERY EXCITED ABOUT HER HAVING TO ATTEND THIS ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOL. AS THE MONTHS PASSED AND I WATCHED MY DAUGHTER THRIVE AND I GOT TO KNOW THE PRINCIPAL AND STAFF I BECAME VERY GRATEFUL THAT WE HAPPENED UPON THIS SCHOOL. IT HAS BEEN A BLESSING FOR OUR FAMILY. IF IN FACT THEIR CHARTER IS NOT RENEWED IT WILL BE A TRAGIC LOSS FOR CARTERET COUNTY. MY FAMILIES PRAYERS ARE WITH MRS SMITH AND ALL OF HER STUDENTS AS SHE FACES THE FINAL DECISION IN A FEW DAYS.
