  • One should KNOW the school and its students and staff before they go judging. It's so easy for most people to talk negative about most things, but rarely do you find people who are willing to talk positively. North Edgecombe High School is a small, but mighty high school. Yeah, the cheerleaders know how to "shake it", but this school has some fine, clever students and some wonderful staff members as well. Many of the graduating seniors have 3.0 GPAs & even above. There are a few with over a 4.0 GPA. They were award thousands and thousands of dollars in scholarships, many of which were academic based. Now, there's NOTHING Ghetto about that! I've seen school that are far worse in many ways in comparison. This school is more like a family than any other school I've encountered. I've lived in the Northeast and in the Midwest. I've attended 3 different high schools myself and had children in 5 different ones (I only have 2 children by the way)and have never seen the unity, caring & spirit that NEHS possesses. Too bad there aren't more area schools more like NEHS. Other neighboring counties could stand to learn a lot by monitoring the way business is handled at NEHS. Oh.... and just because a school has "Prep" behind it, doesn't mean the students are preped as in prepared, for much of anything. Seems to me that too many of the students & even parents & some teachers, are too busy judging other schools and not busy enough getting down to business..... educating our youth, setting exemplary examples, promoting integrity & unity. I'm proud of NEHS and a very proud parent of a particular NEHS student! Are we perfect at NEHS, of course not...but we realize that & will continue to strive for perfection. Love to all my Warriors!
