  • Our son has gone to Almaden Prep since Kindergarten and he's in 4th grade now. Like most parents we searched for many public and private schools before deciding to place him at this school. Actually, Guadalupe Elementary School would have been the public school that our son would go to. But we had reservations about the class size as multiple elementary schools were closed in our district prior to school starting. One day during that summer, our friends told us about Almaden Prep which they just visited for their daughter who's same age as our son. They highly recommended that we make an appointment to meet with the principle Ms. C and take a tour of this school. That meeting with Ms. C was unforgettable not only because of the obvious care and passion that Ms C has for children, but also because it sealed our decision to send our son to Almaden Prep - their philosophy of the "whole child" is important to us, not just academics. Our son loves this school and has friends of all ages from kindergartners to 8th graders. His love for math has grown and leaped since last year and it's now learning 5th grade math. He has never been pushed beyond his capabilities, but has always been presented opportunities appropriate for his own personal level.

Almaden Prep offers a small community environment for students, parents, teachers, and staffs. I have never seen a school where little kids look up to older ones ... and ... older kids look out for little ones ... like brothers and sisters.

The school has on campus after-school activities such as piano lessons, boy scouts, girl scouts, volleyball, football, basketball, Lego robotics, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, and more.

There are two musical plays each school year where students from each class are participated in. Every year, we see so many talented students who can act and sing like professionals ... and they are getting better each year. They are such a great fun to watch and it is always a full house.

We love the small class size and attention our son gets from the teachers and Ms. C. Best of all is the quality of the academic curriculum and a well balance of creative side like musical plays and Lego robotics. We highly recommend this school.

  • Both my children go to this school. Currently they are in 7th and 3rd grades and they have been going to this school from kindergarten. They both love school and it's easy to see why. Principal and staff's genuine caring attitude, the friendships they help foster--it's all incredible, and it's helping our sons with their personal development and to believe that school is fun, which is incredibly important. We appreciate teacher's passion and enthusiasm for teaching and strongly believe that Almaden Prep is the best place for our children.

  • A couple of years ago, we moved here from another state and  I had no experience with any of the local schools.  Far from family and friends, I needed a secure environment that provided a good education, while nurturing curiosity and creativity.   After a lot of research and  more than a few tours, it was immediately obvious--Almaden Preparatory was exactly what I was looking for.

By the end of her first year, my kindergartener was reading and loving it.  She is thriving in her second year at Almaden Prep, excelling in science and math plus making lots of friends.  The faculty is dedicated to the families and the parent community works to promote both the school and the children.  It is a warm, structured, close knit environment; I have no doubt that Almaden Prep will provide my child with many of the tools she will need to succeed in life.

  • Alamaden Preparatory School does an excellent with my two children in Pre-K and 1st Grade. The teaching staff and Administration truly care for each student. The school is small and the classrooms are not crowded, which allows each teacher to spend the necessary time with each student so that he/she can achieve their full potential. My 1st grader is reading at a 3rd grade level. I would highly recommend this school for parents who are looking for a close-knit community that promotes a positive learning environment for children.

  • Almaden Preparatory School has been a great find. We did a lot of research and visited many schools in the area before making our final decision. Besides a tour of the school our daughter spent a full day of school there and loved it.

The school has an excellent academic curriculum. Last year when my daughter was in 1st grade, the teacher spent the 2nd half of the year preparing the students for 2nd grade. This included 2nd grade math, language, phonics, etc. The students loved the challenge. The teacher also had the students reading higher level books just to challenge them to try and sound out words that they were not familiar with. My daughter now loves to read and we can't seem to go often enough to the library to get new books to read. They also practiced public speaking by reading aloud in front of the class about their book reports or the poems they memorized.

There is also a good balance of the creative side such as art, music, musicals or dramatic plays for the students to participate in.

My daughter's confidence level has grown by leaps and bounds. She gets the one on one attention she was not getting much of at another private school that had 30 students in the classroom.

The school also has after school activities on site. My daughter loves the karate class. They also have, boy scouts, girls scouts, piano lessons, volleyball, football, Lego robotics, etc.

    I highly recommend this school.
