  • This is a WONDERFUL School!! Its small classess and teacher/ student ratio is just what i love! My daughter was at a previous school in Rumford, RI & she was VERY behind in her readind ability. The old school gave her 15MIN. 2x's A WEEK for xtra help!!!! Brown ave held her back in 1st grd. & works w/ her an HOUR A DAY for xtra help!!!!! The teachers are truly wonderful, they REALLY CARE about thier students, they go above & beyond what they "have" to do & help those who need it.. My daughter now gets all B's & sometimes a C but she was failing miserably in her former school , which even refused to HOLD HER BACK when she was already so far behind? Brown ave school has been a blessing for my Daughter & our family. I HIGHLY recomend the school, if its in your district .. :)

  • My name is Donald Aspinall and I went to Brown Ave School back in 1939-194- when it was a one room school house with I think three grades & about 20 students , maybe less.. It was heated with a wood fired stove . I lived about 1/4 mile from the school and we NEVER (THAT I CAN REMEMBER) ever have a snow day .
I wonder if anyone has a picture of that old school house.? I remember walking through the woods & a field to get there. Sorry I cannot remember the teachers name or what she looked like.
I believe I lived at 1425 Johnston Ave. A house with a long uphill driveway.

    Anyway, Thanks for the memories.
If someone has a picture my addressis
