  • This school definitely has great potential, but the potential just won't grow because of its lack of student engagement. As a student, I actively participate in any of its events. I even use my leadership skills and roles to influence my peers to have pride in the school and do their part. I constantly urge them to stop complaining about the situation and do something about. Some listen and some don't, but that's just people. In the end, we can be great if the students were more engaged and could appreciate school more. I proposed that our Beta Club clean the court yard, to give our student body something tangible to appreciate. So far it seems successful.

  • I came to this school from Aiken County. My mom works in the school district and I decided to come along. At first it was rough. It was nothing compared to the middle school I was once at. The teachers are great, well at least the one I have. They care about the students and make (most) lessons interesting. In my opinion it's really the students who don't care too much. Which pretty much shows how there's less and less people in each grade. As for discipline, it's okay it's a little harsh at times but if you go to school only to learn then it's not really a problem. I am a member of the band, we're are currently rebuliding due to former band directors who just didn't care and left. A lot of people quit band because of football or cheerleading. I do admit sports is a big part of this high school. I wish they'd be as involved in school as they are in sports. We have a lot of club and a lot of fundraisers go on at the school. After being there for a half a year I really like it. Overall, Blackville can and will progress and this high school as the potential to. It just take time, patience, and cooperation.

  • Just when I think it's safe to bring my child back, is when I am let down, I am a proud Alumni of this school, but it sems to have drasticaly changed over the years. We had an oustanding band, I marched in the Band that won State, and Kept it there under the direction of a Great Director that they keep allowing folk that obviously don't know or care what he represented not only for the program, but to the children under his direction.
This school only has two programs worth mentioning now, and that is the football, and the girls basketball team. As for the education, when I left it was more about the educators getting paid than educating the children. My teachers enjoyed their subjects, and when they did, we enjoyed learning.
And who is this new principle who gives all these petty, and trivial suspensions? Please, get these folk out of this school before all is lost.
