  • As a former student of HMS i can say that most of the rumors you hear about this school are wrong . In my time at Hopkins i was a minority (I was a white student at a mainly black school) and for most of the time i was treated with the most respect (by students, teachers, and admin.), but of course i had a few enemies , but then again which middle school student doesn't? While i was attending there were (unfortunately) a few incidents of (...) intercourse happening , but this is the choice of the student(s) involved and should not reflect badly on the school. While i was aware of gang happenings at HMS, i can say personally i did not participate in any . Seriously , if you think that Hopkins Middle School is the only school with gangs , you are sadly mistaken . Please tell me one middle and or high school in Richland District One that does not have a gang .

Overall i enjoyed my time at Hopkins . If you want to know what really goes on there, do not believe what you hear around town, just go and visit .
