  • I have been very disappointed with Idlewild for the past two years due to teacher involvement and guidance. I cannot understand, for the life of me, why a teacher would allow a child to fail a class without once trying to contact the parents to discuss the situation. If I don't contact them, they will not contact me. Then, when I do contact them, they break their neck trying to either pacify me or figure out how they can put the "blame" on me. I have provided my contact information, so there's no excuse for them not to contact me. I know for a fact that if my child were to "cut up sideways" in her classes they would not hesitate to call me, but for some reason, they don't think dropping from a B to a F in reading or a B to a D in Science is reason enough to contact me. Go figure. When does the school counselor get involved? The Tuesday reports that come home don't indicate the there's a problem and there are no comments from the teachers. I know there are some good teachers there, but it's hard to get one and keep one.
