  • Winfree is a great school. The staff treat students with respect, students support projects like Special Olympics and the School of Innovation is challenging for students who are bored with regular school. You can bet the negative remarks posted here by others are because they didnt get their way about something or have some kind of grudge. It is a great school.

  • I'm disappointed in this school because the self-paced aspect is misleading. My student is having problems finishing; it's difficult to get progress reports on a consistent basis, and there are obstacles to a student getting done what they want to get done-they are held back from proceeding with other classes til the teacher is available or they get finished with specific work. It also doesn't thrill me when the website says that classes are closed due to "inclimate" (sic) weather.

  • These reports about this school have to be fake, because I transferred to this school because it seemed different and my pace is very fast since this school is "self-paced". Although i am here for my second year and this school is anything but self paced. The (...) does nothing for any student that needs something done. The teachers sit around saying they are too busy to help you. "Self-paced" does not mean you have to wait on your teacher who is not willing to help you. I have already paid in full for this coming up semester of community college, which i should already be ready for if this school was actually self-paced. My last teacher i have won't let me progress in the class and won't help me learn.

Overall this school is a terrible choice. I would not recommend going to this school unless you are forced to. This school should only be for pregnant girls, and kids that were kicked out, because even if you are a straight A student, like i am, they will still treat you like a delinquent that doesn't deserve their time, and only deserves to be treated like dirt.

  • this school shouldn't even be called a school. It should be called a place to hold back your child till they are 21 then kick them out. this school is a joke

  • This school was a very good learning center, until the so called new SHERIFF came to town.Mrs.Gillespie does not make sure students have sufficiant work to get thier classes completed. I have a child that goes there and she spends probally 50 mto 60 percent just sitting there.how does a child get an education with this grap going on.this child is a straight a -b student and wants to get finished so she can go to college, but the new Shrriff doesnt see it that way.So I pray everyday that she doesnt just walk out.so I would never recomend this school to anyone wanting an education.

  • This is a great school. Teachers care, the principal is a strong leader and students that have not been successful in other schools are here. The work is challenging and you know you have earned your diploma.

  • Most students might like this school because they are allowed to do whatever they want. It's much like a diploma mill. Free grades! But, if the teacher doesn't like you or is lazy, you may never get your work graded and you're left to sit all day without help and it's easy to get bored and drop out. There is a lot of drug use in this school. My favorite teacher left Lewisville and I left too. I wouldn't recommend this school unless it was a last resort.

  • Overall this school is horrible. The teachers don't help you and the staff is incompetent.
