  • I believe Serenity High School to be the best thing that ever happened to our family. After going through all of the struggles that addiction brings I, as a mother, was terrified to see my son return to the environment from which his problems started. Then I was told about Serenity and their goal for a drug free atmosphere, my son applied to be a student there after completion of his recovery program. He applied in March of 2010 and was able to not only make up all of his lost credits for his Junior year but complete his Junior year on time with excellent grades. He is a much happier person for being part of the Serenity group and he now has confidence in his abilities to learn and succeed in this world. All thanks to the wonderful teachers who have helped him find his way. We are looking forward to a wonderful senior year at Serenity in August 2010. - Angela

  • Serenity High was a place for me to focus on getting good grades and graduating with out the influences of peers in a normal high school setting. In normal high school I was influenced to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes, but at Serenity, I did not have to worry about that, because they provided a place that was chemical free and safe. I made all A's once I enrolled at Serenity, because the classes were smaller and the teachers actually cared for the students. I learned a lot more at Serenity than I did at my old high school. I had the opportunity to take microbiology, horticulture, and aquaculture, and many other advanced classes that are not offered in a regular high school. I was the first McKinney resident to graduate and I was the Valedictorian of the class of 2001.
