  • As a grandparent of a student graduating from Yosemite High School this year, I was appalled by statements made by your commencement speaker, Tiffani Johnson. The purpose of a commencement address should be to encourage the students and send them out into the would with positive thoughts, not to make a political statement. Her address would have been inapproiate for a college graduation, let alone a high school. The Merced School needs to look into who contacted this person and make sure this type of an address doesn't happen again.
